Overall, this was a pretty successful season opener. I ran a PB in the 300m, the 4x400m 'A' team auto-qualified for CIS, and I also ran in my first 4x200m relay ever.
My uncle John, who lives in Montreal, came to watch me race. Unfortunately some guy walked right in front of him during the 4x2 exchange. I promised my uncle I'd get him a press pass for the meet next year - day 2 he couldn't get onto the track :(
Below is my 300m - I'm in lane 2. Two of my training partners are in this heat as well, in lane 3 and 4.
My time was 39.84s. A personal best that ranks me 6th in the CIS rankings (see full rankings here). Decent place to start, but I'll be looking to improve on that.
I'm looking forward to getting in some quality training over the next few weeks, before the next competition in New York City at the Armoury. I hear it's an amazing experience to compete there so I'm pretty excited about that!!
