This past September, I felt like I was starting a new year because I went from working full-time, to being a full-time student: I started a Masters program at the University of Toronto and officially joined the Varsity Blues Track and Field team. But right now, it's the start of a new calendar year, and all these inspirational posts (which I enjoy!) are made on blogs, websites, and social media, like 'New year, New me', and people share their goals for the year. What are your goals? What are you going to do differently, today? This month? This year? I have some short term goals for the 2014 indoor track season, and am staying focused on the indoor season, before making my outdoor season goals.
For me, I don't tend to make new years resolutions - I'm more of an "on-going goal kinda gal." Regardless - goals, or resolutions if you prefer to use that term, are important. Think about what you want, and what you're willing to give up to get there (words of wisdom from my dad).
The IMG Facility is bea-uuuuu-tiful! From the track, you can catch a little golf cart shuttle over to the weight room.
After a killer workout on New Years Day, we went to Siesta Key for a nice beach walk and caught the sunset. The sand was so soft it felt like we were walking in flour. Just amazing! And the sand was so white, which you can't tell from the pic I posted...
Next week, I'm going to be opening up my indoor season at Windsor's Can Am Meet. I know I'll be in a relay, but not sure what my individual race will be. I'm excited either way!!
Stay Motivated. And Happy New Year!
